The team jumped 27 places on Valve's ranking despite still not having a complete roster.
OG have emerged victorious from CCT Season 2 Europe Series 20 after a 1.90-rated masterclass from Maciej "F1KU" Miklas powered them past 500 in the grand final.
The Pole recorded the third-best map of his career (2.12 rating on Ancient) and followed it up with a 1.70 showing on Inferno to secure the $22,000 top prize, which provisionally rockets OG up to No. 23 in Valve's Global Ranking (No. 17 in Europe).
The 27-place jump (+16 in Europe) from March 3 puts OG on the cusp of an invite to most 24-team tier-one events, but more importantly, comes just three weeks shy of the April 7 VRS update that will determine invites for the BLAST.tv Austin Major and its Regional Qualifiers.
Regional invites for Europe will go to teams ranked 11-26, with OG now sitting comfortably in the middle of the pack.
The team's surge comes off the back of an exceptional recent run of results after they started using Nico "nicoodoz" Tamjidi as a stand-in following Mădălin-Andrei "MoDo" Mirea's benching in February.
The Danish sniper has averaged a team-high 1.15 rating over 54 maps during his stint and was the driving force behind OG's upset run and near-qualification to PGL Bucharest through the Europe qualifier, which also contributed to the team's steep VRS climb.
He was second-best (1.15 rating) to Christoffer "Chr1zN" Storgaard (1.23) in this CCT run, where OG recovered from a loss to NAVI Junior in the Swiss group stage by beating fnatic to go 3-1.
Wins over Nemiga and Apogee followed in the playoffs before OG showed incredible tenacity against PARIVISION, recovering from a 0-12 blowout and 2-13 defeat on Dust2 to reverse-sweep the series and crushing 500 mere hours later.
